Don’t be deceived by the tiny and somewhat shabby location-there is a full-blown tamale factory in the back which supplies the likes of Bering’s and many of Houston’s supermarkets and restaurants with delicious tamales, sold frozen in little cotton bags with drawstrings. Luckily for customers in the know, they also serve breakfast tacos (potato & egg, chorizo & egg, sausage & egg, bacon & egg, shredded beef, shredded chicken, ham & egg, barbacoa, chicharron, beans & cheese, beans), fresh or frozen gourmet tamales, tamale plates specials ($4.75-6.50), nachos, seafood tacos, sizzling tacos, tortas, gorditas, shredded chicken flautas, all available in various combinations. Nothing on the menu is over $7.25. AND, you can pick up Hot Tamale Pepper Sauce (!), Cilantro Sauce, Chipotle, Pepper Sauce, Chili, of Chili Con Queso in jars for your home fridge or pantry.
